My aquascape in my Evo 13.5 has really bad shadows on both the left and right lower sides. It’s making my coral placement and growth really difficult, so I have a ton of frags in the sand currently.

Am I able to build a new aquascape outside the tank and then just transfer everything over?

Tank has been up for roughly 7 months. Parameters are all decent. Will be using the same sand, might add more but not sure yet, and filter media (have bio balls and rock frags ) so as far as I know, shouldn’t need to recycle the tank.

Thoughts?

I would incorporate the current rock into the new scape. That being said, is the new rock you will be adding already cured live rock or dry rock?

It will be Marco dry rock. I can definitely use some current pieces.

I’m planning on doing 2 pillars or triangle type shapes with a small bridge to connect them. Sort of like my current scape but less overhang and shadows if that makes sense.

I sort of jumped the gun and already ordered 15# of marco rock with 2 starter bases from BRS.

You can just go very slowly and keep some current rock. So either use that current rock to rearrange or use live rock and try not to take it out all at once it’ll most likely mess up the balance.
