I will be starting a tank soon and I honestly don't see the time or resources to have a QT.. are there any products that are safe to use while establishing a new tank that can be used as a prophylaxis against velvet and ich that would be recommended? I plan to eventually add coral but not for a while

The issue with trying to treat a tank for these 2 diseases is that the meds required, will be forever in the sand & rock. This means reduced bacteria levels. No inverts or clean up crew ever. My solution has always been to TTM new fish before going in the tank. You can take your chances and not QT. In todays world its my belief, a lot of fish are not healthy enough to resist the diseases they are exposed to, before you get them.
