What's your vote for a prophylactic ich/velvet treatment?

CP is the best for most species. Much harder to get as it requires a script from a vet. So it makes it difficult to obtain, and some Wrasse, anthias, blue hippos etc don't do well in it...

So copper is more readily available and seems to be used more.

I would recommend chelated copper (copper power).

I will always prefer copper for ich and velvet because I can measure it to make sure that I'm in the therapeutic range.

CP is so much easier than copper, though with the Hanna checker copper is definitely a lot easier than before. Any fish that can go through CP does, the rest get copper power.

Cp for me, no question about it.

Copper appears to be my only option. I called some vets local to me, including the vet we take our 3 dogs to, and nobody was even willing to listen much. Once I said fish, they said they don't deal with fish. Maybe the next time I take one of the dogs in I'll ask the actual vet since I was talking to receptionists over the phone.

Same problem here. I have tried 3 different vets. No luck.

I have seen some threads where people were able to convince their vet to write a script by printing some of @Humblefish's Write ups in to "educate" the vet.

Perhaps the next time the dogs are in for their yearly checks I'll bring some of that material. I think the actual vets may be more open, or at least let me finish. The receptionists at the places I called pretty much cut me off as soon as I said the word "fish". After they heard that they were just trying to get me off the phone.
