At the end of the day, you'll need to figure out what works best for you. I would have the reefwave 25 ( you'll likely have to have it pretty much maxed) on the end and the mp 40 on the back on the opposite side to disrupt flow.

I really like your scape. Lots of places for fish to hide and mounting of corals. Well done

Yea.. the reefwave25 is set at 70%/80% and there is decent laminar flow but the corners and spots in the middle has buildup already.

I really like the scape - nice job. I have a gyre on one end of my 75 gallon, about 2" from the top of the water. Have noticed a couple small dead spots in the front corners, so will experiment with adding a couple small powerheads on the lower back glass. We'll see. It's so hard to decide.

Are they running in a sync or against each other?

Run anti-sync on pulse mode and LPS mode. But they’re synced when I do a square wave forward/reverse to get a good stir up and export of detritus. FWIW I tried several different pump configurations and flow patterns. Had these on side walls, back walls, 1 on each, etc etc, also did the same thing with gyres. Really will boil down to what works for your scape and livestock. Chances of moving pumps and switching flow patterns as you add coral will almost definitely be 100%.

I'm a big fan of the reef wave pumps. With that said, the 25 is slightly underpowered for longer than a 3-ft tank. It does great in my reefer 250 but doesn't have much more to give than that.

It's a mo-money hobby for sure. Look at the Marketplace here @ R2R and elsewhere. I bought my Gyres and an MP40 used for a very good price. The MP40 has been running for about 4 years and the Gyres about two. I have replaced the wet side of the MP40 once. It is a buyer beware thing though. So ask a lot of questions.
