Hey Everyone,

I set my tank up on may 10th Its a prostar 150. I was in the hobby about 20 years ago and wow things have changed. The tech is awesome. Here are a few first pics sorry about the messy sump but waiting to get all equipment before I really organize and see where things fit best:)

Current Gear list

Lighting Kessil AP9x DT
H80 Tuna Flora- Refugium
UV - AquaUltraviolet 25 watt with Reef Octopus Varios 2 on high so around 700 Gallons an hour.
Aquavitro 125 Skimmer
Apex Fusion Controller
Heater in sump
BRS CO2 scrubber
110 pounds "live rock" about 5-7 pounds in ref.
Gyros 4k x 2
Syncra SDC 6.0 WiFi Controllable Pump (530-1450 GPH) - Sicce

Cycle is going well

My only current issue is low ALK at 4. Dropped fast in last couple days need to start adding.

Please give thoughts, concerns, or things that would be a must add:)

Ok, first of all, I thought your title said "PORNstar"! :D:D:D LOL

Welcome back to the hobby. Setup looks good. I wouldn't worry too much about alk right now, as you don't have anything in the tank to consume it. I'd also save the CO2 scrubbing media until it's cycled and you have corals in the tank.

Get that bacterial population established then let's get this thing going!

Ha!!

Good to be back. Did it in college had a 90 gallon reef but way different now and helps to not be a broke college student:) Yea i am not sure my co2 scrubber is working as media isnt changing been a couple days. Ph is doing its thing at 8.14 and down to 8 at night.

Yea i just added some trigger pods. Also did the turbo start etc to get cycle going.

Thanks so much for sharing! I am waiting for delivery of my Prostar 150 as well (hopefully this week). Can you share some pics of how you mounted the apex/other equipment in the sump? Thanks and I wish you continued luck!

Hey

Exciting! I am still in the phase of figuring out where things will need to go exactly so excuse the cord mess. There are alot of options. Now that i see this picture i need to get that organized my OCD does not like:)

I have on order in on a prob holder for the probs but now they are just sitting in the sump. I had thought the apex fusion came with a holder.

Hope you are having a good holiday weekend!

Hi i Hope all is well! Just a quick question as my tank delivers next week. Can you advise on the filter sock size as I can’t seem to find a reference to it anywhere online. So psyched to get things kicked off!

Update:)

corals have been added all is doing well.
Fish

white tail tang
Baby orange shoulder tang
Blue cheek trigger
Yasha goby
2 serpent starfish
Pistol shrimp
Banded shrimp
2 blue damsel
3 conchs
Bunch of clean up crew

added second Kessil
Dosing pumps
Trident testing

need to get List of corals from
Underwater

All corals appear healthy besides the hammer which did not do well and is likely dying. Tank parameters are good likely too new and clean?

Just picked up the Prostar 150. Can you explain how you have your sump set up? I know the basic set up has the drain and return lines, but looks like you have some other piping going on. This will be my first sump set up. Going from 2 biocube 32s to the 150.
Thanks!!
