Hey guys! Three years after setting up my first ever reef tank, I am finally about to upgrade! My current tank is a 46 gallon bowfront and I will be upgrading to a 200 gallon ProStar aquarium.

Unfortunately, the left side door shattered during transport to my house . I contacted Pro-Clear and am working on getting a replacement.

Here’s an overview of the equipment I have purchased and plan to run on this new tank:
Sump- Built in pro-clear sump
Skimmer- Red Sea reefer skimmer 600
Lighting- 3 kessil a360x
Fuge lighting- kessil H80
Top- BRS DIY screen net top
Flow- 2 icecap 2k gyres w/ battery backup
Heaters- 2 eheim jager 250 watt
Return pump- Sicce syncra silent 5.0 (1300 gph)

I also plan on thoroughly quarantining all fish that are added to the tank. This is my stocking plan:
1 yellow tang- already have
2 ocellaris clowns- already have
1 six line wrasse- already have
1 blonde naso tang
1 Atlantic blue tang
1 yellow belly hippo tang
1 tomini tang
5 squareback or lyretail anthias
1 harlequin tusk
1 niger trigger
1 snowflake eel

Is this too much? I plan on getting smaller specimens to start off with and I also have a buddy with a 1000 gallon reef tank if something gets too big.

Also, does anyone on here have experience or any tips regarding the prostar system?

I would say yes too many fish, but then I have maybe 10 in my 600g

Just built a DIY inline CO2 degasser for my RO/DI filters. I was changing DI resin every 40 gallons. Hopefully I get longer life out of it now.

Great start! I am making a similar upgrade with a Cade 1500 from a bow front. I am curious, what are your plans for your old tank. I am thinking about reusing mine as a FOWLR but i haven't fully committed.

I actually sold it. The old tank was made in 2005 and the silicone was not in the greatest shape. I just didn’t trust it enough to keep it up for another 5 years without re-sealing.

I bought my first one 2001, re-sealed in 2013. Replaced in 2017, same stand throughout which is why I’m considering keeping it. Would you have kept it if it was in better shape?

I for sure would have kept it but it would probably go into storage though cuz I don’t have time for any other tanks right now other than small nano tanks.

2 month update! Everything is growing and settling in nicely. Alk consumption is dropping an average of 0.2 dKH per day!

I am looking at getting this same tank :) Do you like it?

I really like it so far. I like how simple the sump is and how spacious it is. The tank itself seems to be very well made. My only complaint is that the refugium section is rather small.

Update:
Everything is growing and seems happy so far, haven’t run into any major issues yet knock on wood.

My RBTA got its bubbles back after losing them 3 years ago so that’s cool.

Looking really good.

Do you have any pics of the Sump would like to see how you set yours up?

I don’t have any pics, I can get some over the weekend. But I have it set up pretty simply. Water goes through three filter socks, through the skimmer section with a Red Sea 600 skimmer, through some chaeto, then into the return.
