Here’s to the beginning of my ProStar 230 (72x26x24)! Day 4 of a fishless cycle, so I only turned the lights on for photo opportunity!

Components:
Jebao SCP-180 x2 (upgrading to 4k’s I just had these on hand)
MP40 x2
Hydra 32 x1
Hydra 64 x2
57 watt Aqua UV x1
Reef Octopus Classic 202-S Skimmer x1
Jebao DCP-13000 Return Pump x1 (planning to upgrade down the road as well)

Starting to review my stock list for this bad boy, the goal is a mixed reef, any recommendations would be great!

Day 7 of fishless cycle. Adjusted the fan positions to get more even flow and did some minor cord maintenance (still a long way to go with that).

Looking good - I want to swim through that rock opening. lol

Why did you choose the Prostar over say Redsea or Waterbox? (I'm curious, as I have a space that would ideally situate a 5 foot tank and Prostar seems to be the only 5 foot stock tank available.)

1: the cost for the almost identical product. The only thing I had to adjust in the Prostar that you wouldn’t have to in the Red Sea is their plumbing; it’s metric and not standard schedule 80 pvc, but that was easily fixed with taking out the return pump line with 3/4 schedule 80 pvc and it fit perfectly into the union that connect to the display tank.

2: their sump layout is really nice. Spacious to add reactors and such things with ease.

I agree the shipping was great, I like the fact you don't have to put a stand together like Red Sea or Water Box, and its a steel stand with glass panels looks amazing. I have had mine since July 2021I have had no issues.

Thanks for more info on the Prostars, they sound like a good option. If nothing else then not having to spend a day putting together a stand is pretty appealing. lol After having battled with a bathroom renovation last year with products in metric and the nightmare of trying to get fittings, I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I attached a 3/4” Schedule 80 ball valve to the union going into the DT and it fit like a glove. 3/4” schedule 80 from there and you’re golden.

Was so nice just to line the tank up and call it a day!

If you don't mind, can you go into a little more detail on the return conversion you did. I just got the 90v2 and want to build a manifold. But that metric piping is annoying!!
