Protein skimmer and ATS

Has anyone used both a protein skimmer and an ATS? If so once your ATS starting functioning did you notice a decrease in your skimmer collection? I've noticed since mine is producing algae my skimmer barely pulls anything.

Have you tried adjusting the skimmer just in case the ATS is producing something that kills foam?

It still maintains a foam head, just doesn't collect as much.

Another shot. Could the plastic parts of the ATS like those of a new skimmer have a mold release which interferes with foaming? Did you wash the ATS before usung it?
