Hi

Ever since I started adding NOPOX, my protein skimmer is collecting this green liquid thing. I guess it's normal? My nitrate/phosphate level is still high but I'm gonna allow some time because I started dosing NOPOX last weekend.

I am not familiar with that product, but the skim just looks wet. If its filling up quickly, i would dial it back and get a darker skim on it. Someone else can chime in on the products impact to a skimmer.

Don't be affraid to skim wet while carbon dosing, just keep an eye on the salinity. The skimmer is your primary form of export when carbon dosing. Once levels have come down, you can resume normal skimming practices.

When using Nopox you do need to ‘wet skim’ to make it more effective and to remove the nutrients from the system.

The ideal skim mate colour is like weak tea.

I have found when nutrients are raised the skim mate colour often has a green colour as well and then as they are reduced it goes back to weak tea assuming your wet skimming so the colour looks fine so far
