Protein skimmer! Does gph matter?

So I’m looking for a good skimmer for my 125gal with 40ish gal sump. I’m looking at the k2-200 icecap but the gph on the pump is extremely low compared to some others. Is there a reason? Any suggestions? My water height is 10 inch so I don’t think I can run the curve 7 could I?

The manufacturers recommendations are usually pretty close.

Water height can be dealt with by making a platform for the skimmer to sit on. I use a platform made of egg crate with PVC pipe legs. My skimmer section is about 12" deep, so the platform gets my skimmer up where it's recommend.
