Protein Skimmer for 20 Gallon w/ sump

Hi all - Looking to purchase a good protein skimmer for a 20 gallon tank with a 11 gallon sump. Don't want to break the bank, but am looking for a solid good performing unit to put in the sump. I see a lot of reviews, however it seems most reviews are of those too big for my tank and more suited for a 75-110 gallon tank.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Id try out the tunze Comline DOC Skimmer 9001. If its out of your budget try finding one used.

Thank you for your help, really appreciate the response. This looks like a decent skimmer, but to be an on tank skimmer. I lam actually wanting a in sump instead.

Just in case you didn’t know, a skimmer is not essential to a reef. I have never had one on my 20gl tall.

Yes, I have been debating on it honestly. I know they do help quite a bit, but not sure if I want to spend the extra money now. Possibly I will add down the road. I do have other needs at the moment like a ATO, which I am still trying to decide which one.
