I ran one for about 3 months on my 26g. Total waste of money! Better suited for a pico tank. Then I bought the Hydor Slim Skim Nano, more money down the drain

Finally I decided to waste no more money and bought the Reef Octopus BH-1000! Awesome is all I can say besides it's what I should have done from day one

I'd take a look at the Tunze 9002 or 9006....or even their Rrefpack 250.

Tunze 9002 is great.. I just upgraded to it from a diy (diy pulls pretty good too if you're handy with diy)..

"Plans" no.. But I probably have pics.. I used 2 gold peaks tea bottles and a tube from an old gravel siphon.. Add in a powerful air pump and an air stone (limewood) and it pulled some funk out of the water pretty well..

Tunze 9002 are beastly little skimmers if you have a sump. I have one for sale in the Wichita ks area lol

Unfortunately I don't have any pics of skimmate... I recently swapped to the 9002.. But it pulled just as dark as the 9002 (maybe even darker), but it was VERY temperamental about water height. A mm move up and it wouldn't pull, a mm move down and it was crazy wet.. The air pump was a big tetra brand pump.. Forget what size but it's like a jumbo one (worked almost as well with a normal size air pump).. Pulled a lot more solid junk out of the water than the Tunze does..
