Protein Skimmer for a Nano tank

I have a 24 Gallon JBJ Nano Cube and I wanted to install a Protein Skimmer in the first compartment where the filter sponge resides. Does anyone know a Protein Skimmer that will fit in that narrow spot? Its 4" x2.5" and 16" deep.

Mr. Saltwater tank did a review on that model and skimmer got great reviews. Its an inch wider.

Its over 3 inches. However the plastic rim blocks some of the openning.
