Protein skimmer help!

Hey guys. I have the bubble magus skimmer and it seems to not be working that well. My skimmate is still clear and it keeps fluctuating way to much. One day it'll be over flowing and the next the bubbles r only half way up the neck. Any help please ?

How old is the tank, how long have you been running the skimmer?

What if anything are you dosing? Is your water level consistent?

My tank is 3 months old but I've had my skimmer for a month now. I don't have an auto top off but even when the water is consistent it's still erratic. One hour it's overflowing and the other hour it's not even skimming cuz the bubbles r too low.

What bubble magus are you running? Water depth 8-10"

Try running it at around 8-9" water depth i have the same one on my 55 hex with a 29 gal sump
