Protein skimmer help

I have upgraded from a 55 to 150 gal tank. I want to add a protein skimmer but it is an acrylic tank with a solid top that has holes in it. How do I do an external protein skimmer? Which one will work?

I have an oversized canister filter. Fluval F5.

I have external. Reef Octopus has the line known as EXT (external). They are convenient not consuming sump space and quiet.
