I have an AquaMaxx Q2 on my 93 cube, with 30 gallons of actual water in the sump.
I have an issue of consistent performance. It takes about 2 days for the skimmer to really produce. The problem is that everyday when I feed, I put the return pump on feed mode, and the sump fills up, which makes the skimmer over flow a little. Not really the issue. The problem is when the return kicks back on and the new water with some food and vitamins goes to the sump it makes the water level in the skimmer drop way down.
It takes almost a day for the skimmer to get back to normal, but then I feed again and the process starts all over. So I feel my skimmer is never at peak performance.
Does anyone else encounter this problem? And how do you deal with it? Because even if the return stays running, the skimmer still lowers its level. If I shut the skimmer off and back on, same thing.
