Protein Skimmer Noise

I have an eshopps 150 skimmer that Ive been using and am getting rid of soon. It recently started making air pressure noises through the rubber tubing. Is there something wrong with the motor?

Did you tear it apart and inspect it? Might just be dirty...?

I don't know that skimmer specifically, but simply put a muffler on the end of the air tubing. You can purchase one or simply make one out of a old Rx bottle.

Mine did the same, I have the smaller one. Took it out gave a vinegar bath, stuck the airline tubing in the vinegar also so it was running through there also. Once I put it back in the sump it was quiet again, probably just a build up restricting the air intake.
