Protein Skimmer Not Bubbling

I have a bubble magus protein skimmer. For the last week, the chamber fills with water, but its not foaming at top like I would expect it to. I have not had any major chemistry changes recently, so am I worried about this or does this happen sometimes?

sounds like your air intake is clogged up with salt creep try blowing into it I run to water threw mine every once and a while to keep salt creep from happening

Disassemble the pump and soak in vinegar to clean. As kacrocorals stated, the volute/venturi portion of the pump easily clogs with precipitate. Soak in vinegar and pick out any precipitate. I do this with my skimmer about once a year.

Feeding different food perhaps? If it is still very white with bubbles but not foaming, there may be more oils in the water from food like mysis shrimp.

Agreed, sounds like salt creep has blocked off the air intake line. I've got to clean mine once a week, in order to keep it at full function.
