Protein skimmer overflow, NEED HELP PLZ??

Coral putty residue makes a protein skimmer go nutz. :)

Breaking in a new skimmer is hard to get any consistent skimmate during the break in period.

Hope that helps you out.

Oh dang that's crazy! Do you know how long till it goes away?

Depends on how much your used.
I've read that some reefers use good activated carbon to absorb it and a water change could not hurt.

Really does depend on how much you used. It could take hours or a day or two based on amount. Three or four small balls used to mount some corals in my 300 gallon system could make it foam for a few hours.

Does Fauna Marin Aquascape Fix have the same effect? I fixed 3 corals to rocks in a 120 litre Redsea Reefer on Monday and the Nyos 120 skimmer which was working perfectly is now foaming like crazy on Thursday!

From what I have read it does not, I have never used it. There are so many things that can cause a skimmer to go nuts, amino acids, various foods and other additives or just having the skimmer set to wet.
