As the title states, all I did was add 2/3 cup of carbon to my system and now my skimmer is overflowing and going crazy. Any ideas on what is causing that? Maybe I need to retune the skimmer? I just dont run carbon all the time so having to tune the skimmer everytime would kind of stink.

Thanks Dream Team

That's really weird. I run carbon in my tank non stop but even when I change it I just rinse in tap water, and I've never had a skimmer overflow from that. Even when I first added it my skimmer did nothing. Might be worth trying a different type of carbon, maybe try to get a higher quality one. You are positive it is from the carbon, not from a new filter sock or something on your hands?

Totally sure nothing changed, really odd. I should have went with the brs highest grade but I tried the premium aquatics stuff. My skimmer has always done that with filter socks but never had to adjust it. Odd but I will go with it, black friday sounds like better skimmer time!! Thanks for the time gents!!

Is it just normal carbon, the same thing happens to me when I add the solution for remove nitrate and po4 which is carbon based makes it over I have a hang on so its a pain
