When I do a water change for my 400 gallon, the RedSea Protein Skimmer bubbles always fills the top container and overflows. The water in the container is clear but the tiny bubbles continue to overflow for days. I have the bubble air flow at the minimum?

Do you turn it off when doing a water change?
It might help to let everything settle for 30 min after a water change before starting the skimmer

As stated above it’s more then likely due to your sumps water level rising while doing the water change.

yes, now that I learn more about it my socks were washed in the washer and may have some residue on them. I'll do a partial water change and see what happens.
Thanks for your reply...

“Bubble air flow? Do you have air adjustment on that Red Sea?

Yes and I have it turned to it's lowest air flow.
Typically with a venturi style skimmer, when you add air water level inside skimmer goes down. When you reduce air - water level goes up. Would try to adjust air closer to full open (more air) and use skimmer’s water output valve to adjust water level in skimmer to produce nice skimmate.
