Recently on a daily basis my skimmer has been going crazy and overflowing almost everyday, like in picture below. I’m pretty sure I know the answer to this problem but figured I’d ask anyway. Here’s a little backstory.
Few months ago I upgraded tanks from a 125 to a 350, been up and running for about 4 months now. I currently have a bible magus D8 skimmer. The last few weeks it’s been overflowing like this on a daily basis, I’m guessing it’s just extremely underrated for this size of a system. I have the water level about 12” high and the adjustable drain hole is fully open, whereas I used to keep it almost completely closed. I’m hoping to not have to gat a bigger skimmer but I’m guessing that’s probably the answer? My nitrates are high, about 20ish, I have a fairly heavy bio load, I use a couple reactors with bio pellets and some ceramic pieces in another reactor. Anything else I can do before upgrading skimmers?
Thanks
