Protein Skimmer Stand

Hey all,
So currently just need to raise my skimmer up in the sump for water level purposes. Can’t see spending $50 on a stand so found this acrylic stand in my home, washed with vinegar, this will be ok to put into the sump correct?

That will be fine but I would drill a ton of hole in it so water can flow through it. You dont want a stagnant area

Agree on holes so it doesn’t try and float
