Protein skimmer started bubbling like crazy

Hey guys,

I have a Red Sea 600 skimmer and today it suddenly started bubbling like crazy. It’s been completely fine for over a year then I saw all the dirt leaking back into the tank.

It seems the water level is fine still so not sure what’s causing it. Added a video to show how much it’s bubbling even on the lowest open setting.

Looks like it's running way too wet. Have you tried opening the drain 100%?

Yh it started overflowing like crazy into my tank so I emptied it out and then this video was recorded. This video is after I already closed the nozzle as much as possible. If I open the valve more it starts overflowing crazy fast

What else has changed lately? Skimmer running high could be a symptom of something going on in the tank.

Everything seems to have been fine. The only thing I changed is put in some Rowa phos in the little pouch they provided. Could that have caused it?

Yeah the microscopic powder in that could be enough. Does the skimmate look tinted that color?

It all just leaked into the tank so before I saw it had all gone back into the tank sadly. So I have no idea now
