Protein Skimmer Stopped Working Properly

I just changed my 100 micron filter sock to a new one and my protein skimmer just suddenly shot out tons of micro bubbles out of the exhaust. It seems like my pump is putting in more water than air, so I checked my air line but its fine. I have no idea whats happening and would like an answer. My system is a brand new 90 gallon with a 40 gallon sump, done cycling a month ago with one fish in the system currently.

If it’s a new sock. The skimmer might be reacting to the sock. (Happens normally with brand new socks, they should always be washed once to remove any factory remnants). It should subside once the sock gets “dirty” enough.

If you want close the skimmer a little and that should stop it from overflowing. Or turn it off for the night and should be good by morning

I changed it back to the dirty filter sock but its still like this, turned the skimmer off and back on.

The skimmer is going to take a little time to settle down. Whatever chemicals made it react is already on the water. Take the top of and just let overflow for the night. That should calm it down
