Protein skimmer too noisy solution

So I managed to get my sump to be dead silent then I got a protein skimmer and it sounded like a race car in there. Noticed it was just the air intake pipe that was making it so noisy so a little YouTube search and I found this gem.

DIY silencer. If you have the same issue thought it might help some people.

It’s literally as easy to make as it looks 1 tube 1 bottle 2 holes

You could just shut that thing down. No skimmer = no noise
