Protein skimmer vs pulsing Xenia

I just got a protein skimmer for my tank a few days ago. I have a few patch’s of pulsing Xenia that are growing mad crazy and would like for them to spread will my protein skimmer take to much out of the water and kill them.

Protein skimmer won't affect them negatively as long as your nitrates don't hit 0.

Should I turn skimmer off when dosing reef roids and if so how long
