Okay I know this is the taboo question but I'm looking for input. I'm building a 40 breeder with 20 gallon sump. I want an In sump skimmer for around 350. I got scared off from the vertex omega 150 because of the reviews on it being picking and hard to dial in. I am now looking at the aqua max co2 cone or the reef octopus classic 160. What's you opinion on the best skimmer for this set up, no hang on the backs

Reef octopus is a good brand I've been happy with before. We have a 40b with a 29g sump this latest build and I'm extremely happy with the bubble magus Nac 6 skimmer I'm running. The newer version is the curve they have great reviews and reasonable price.

Okay haven't read much on bubble Magnus but nothing beats personal experience

Reef Octo r Bubble Magnus and you really cant go wrong. Nice budget to should be abe to get a nice skimmer. It get taboo when people ask this question and wont spend more than 100 bucks.

waiting to get my new reef octopus regal 250 tomorrow. I will be putting my RO super 300 up for sale as soon as I get it cleaned up and looking good.

This skimmer will certainly work but I wouldn't suggest it. I have run one for 4 years now on 2 different tanks and it works well, but having just purchased a Vertex Omega 150 for an upgrade I finally have something "nicer" to compare it to. The SCA feels flimsy compared to the Vertex.

The SCAs work well enough, but it's my opinion and personal experience that they won't perform as well as some of the more popular brands out there. If you are comfortable with a $350 budget then use it on a more branded skimmer and skip on the SCA.

True. I was sold on the vortex omega 150 till I started reading user reviews on BRS. It's apparently built like a tank but finicky on water level and dialing it in. I'm looking at the bubble Magnus G5, Aqua max co2, RO Classic 160 or the SRO 1000
