Protein Skimmer

I recently set up a 250 gallon tank. I have 6 clown fish, a yellow tang, and 2 starfish. I DO NOT have a protein skimmer yet. How important is it to have one? I've had the fish for about a month.

If you do not have a skimmer you will need to watch your nitrates. 7 fish in a 250 is not a heavy bio load so you can do it. Make sure you do water changes. Skimmer makes your life easier.

Just gotta watch your water parameters, real close is all. Just do your water changes to keep those Nitrates under control and you'll be ok. But, you'll be doing alot of them, and big ones at that. In the long run, its better to have a good sized skimmer to remove nutrient build up.
