OK, so I added bio-magnet clarifier to my tank about a week ago. It came with a bag of sand and I researched it to make sure it was safe for my fish. I added it and it worked great the water cleared up in a matter of hours. I realize now I should have just followed the number one rule of aquariums, patience.

Here is my problem. Ever since I added it my protein skimmer has been going crazy. If I leave it plugged in for more than 20 seconds it shoots bubbles everywhere. Like with enough force to lift Tue lid off the skimmer. My skimmer is the blue hang on back skimmer, with what looks like a Jesus fish, and 3 little waves under it on the lid. Can anyone tell me how long it is going to take for the bubbles to stop?

I plan on doing a pretty hefty 30-40% water change today. And, I know that I'm not going to use the clarifier anymore. Other than that is there anything else I can do other than wait? I don't like having my protein skimmer off for so long.

Sorry if this is the wrong thread to put this under, but I am new to the forum. Also, if my posts are to long let me know. I like to give as much detail as possible to help explain all the issues.

How old is the Skimmer? When adding certain chemicals (if thats what it was )they can cause skimmers to go crazy for a week or so. I would continue with water changes. Hopefully someone with more experience on that product will chime in
