Protein skimmer

A protein skimmer was given to my husband for helping move stuff.. And we have NO idea how to set it up to a 16 gal Nuvo Aquarium nano

It looks like those brackets will sit on the edge of your tank, the clear tube will be your input and the black tube will be your output. I don't see where the skimmate will collect though, maybe in the blue area.

I'd say set it up on the side of a bucket full of water/vinegar and get it cleaned up and test it to see how it runs. [do this with a 5 gallon bucket in the bathtub]



It also looks like you'll nee a pump in the tank to connect the clear line to [maxijet should work fine]

It might be missing pieces, normally the pump is somehow connected to one of the outside tubes to draw the water in [i've never seen a two-pump hang on back skimmer]

Im going to assume it's missing the collection cup which goes where the blue part is and by the looks of it you need yup feed it with a small external pump through the sylicone hose. Seems to be a recirculation type

It has the cup..it's just blue to...very had to see and yah what type of pump should I get small large? Medium? How many gallons should be in the skimmer...and what filter media's should I use....I thought about the bio balls...but....

Small like 80 gph max (probably less) they don't take much and no media... ive never seen one with media at least (not an expert though)

You can pull the blue cup out? It seems too low to be the skimmate cup to me. Also i am led to believe that the black pvc elbow its facing the wrong direction i believe it should be down into your tank
