Any pictures to what you're referencing?I just got the Eshopps Axium X-120, and there is a tube that seems to be made for bringing in air. There also a little button there. When/How often should a push that button?
These are not from my protein skimmer, but it is the same one.Any pictures to what you're referencing?
Ok thank youThat's not a button. That's the air inlet. You don't need to do anything with it besides keeping it clean from debris and salt creep

Are you sure its a button and not a dial? I believe that skimmer has an adjustable air valve that can be tuned /used as a silencer.I just got the Eshopps Axium X-120, and there is a tube that seems to be made for bringing in air. It is definitely not a valve, but there is something that spins and can open and close a hole that lets air in. That is on top of the inlet. Are you sure its a button and not a dial? I believe that skimmer has an adjustable air valve that can be tuned /used as a silencer.
That is to adjust your air intake, so you can choose between a dry or wet skim, the tighter you put it the less air the wetter the skim, the looser the more air the dryer the skim. You have to adjust it and find the sweet spot based on what kind of skim you wantIt is definitely not a valve, but there is something that spins and can open and close a hole that lets air in.
