Protein skimmer

Will a part of the protein skimmer being blocked cause it to foam like crazy and over flow out the overflow holes ? I have the height of the skimmer maxed out.. I did use super glue for two frags that I attached to the live rock today maybe that could be doing it ? I also did scrub off a lot of the live rock so maybe something got sucked up by the skimmer and is blocking it somewhere ?

Glue can do it. A lot of additives can. Is it new if so needs to break in.

Just tweak the flow of air a bit calm those bubbles down some

Yah I’m aiming toward the glu or something off my skin while I was in the tank, skimmer is 5 years old, I let the cup fill up a couple times shut the skimmer off and drained the cup out into a bucket and seemed to cure the problem, bubbles have returned near normal and cup isn’t over flowing

Sounds like you got it. Mine needs constant supervision lol

I have never had suoer glue cause a skimmer to go crazy. Been using super glue for frags for a long it. Most likely it was from cleaning the rock.
