PROTEIN SKIMMER

Newbie question. My tank has been set up for about 2 months. I have a Aquavitro skimmer and I had this thing running beautiful - nice brown water in the collection tank. Yesterday I went to change the filter sock so I turned the tank off, changed the sock and started everything back up and now the skimmer is just overflowing with bubbles. It fills the collection tank up in a minute. What am I doing wrong?

Check the water level in your sump. Could be too high

Did something make it into your water? Different things can change the way a skimmer works. Oil or lotion on your hands, any type of cleaner used on the socks. Or like post above me said water height?

Water level is constant. Going on vaca for 2 weeks so I bought an auto fill.
