Protien skimmer bubbling to much any ideas how to stop it?

Hello, I have a protien skimmer and I lost the plastic peice that had a sponge in it that stopped the bubbles. The protien skimmer works but it is putting way to many bubbles in my tank. Can someone think of something I can put over the pipe going into the tank to stop the bubbles? Here is a pic of what is happening.

There should be air inlet somewhere. It might be completely open.
Thirteen it or connect it or adjust the air intake=less bubbles

There also used to be a plastic piece on the end of the airhose, maybe thats why there are so many bubbles. I bought a thing that can go in the end of the airhose that can srew open to closed to add more air or slow it down, do you think that will help if put that in the end of the airhose and close it some?

Try a piece of blue bonded filter pad in place of the sponge.

This skimmer comes stock with a box that the return water is supposed to empty into. It has a sponge in it, and when I used this, it prevented the bubbles (or at least minimize them) from gong back into the tank. Guessing you don't have this?

No, I lost this part.

I had a peace of a thick sponge I tried to put in a red sea test kit plastic lid that I tied on to the out that goes into the tank but the sponge was to thick and clogged up the water flow. Maybe a thinner sponge might work?

I can slow down the bubble intake with this valve but it didn't stop them, there are still way to many bubbles. Any other suggestions?

I think I am missing a plastic peice like this with a sponge in it, so I was hoping to maybe make something for cheap. Any ideas?

Hey Nate, sorry it took me so long to reply, that's really cool of you to do that. Thank you. Do you have the plastic hose maybe that comes out of the pvc pipe that goes into the plastic box also? I have the flex hose, but it is attached to the outlet tubing and cannot be removed. If you want I can just send the entire body and box. Lmk.

Just use some filter floss or filter sponge, cut it and rubberband it to the pipe
