Hey all I am looking at getting a skimmer for my 40B and am looking at the Eshopps 75H and the Octopus BH1000. I dont know which one to chose as they both seem to have good reviews. Im looking at these 2 in particular because they dont put the pump in the tank. I will not be running a sump so it has to be HOB and no pump showing. Which one would you pick?

I had the eshopps 75 and drilled the air intake to 1/4 inch and meshed the wheel and it was bad little skimmer...pulled some of the nastiest dark green junk I ever seen in person...lol

I'd take the eshopps over the octo all day. They work well.

Btw, we're in Simi Valley, too...
the H1 is another option...

I have a the original H1 it is built great, but the skimming is not optimal, I have to run the cup all the way to the top and it fill's up every night. it is on a forty gallon!!

If you put the Gen.2 cup on it, it solves it... send me a PM and I'll send one to you @ no charge when we get the next shipment .
