Hi everyone,
I'm getting a new JBJ 65G rimless tank. I'm trying to decide which protien skimmer to get, the tunze doc comline 9004 dc (60g light bioload/20 g high) or the awuamaxx hob 1.5 (60g light/90g heavy bioload) . I don't Kno what my bioload will be or how to estimate it based on what inhabitants I'd like so your recommendation will be greatly appreciated. TIA

The 9004 will be too small. I have it on my 45 and that’s as big of a tank I would use with the 9004. That aquamaxx is too small too.

I have a Reef Octopus bh2000 from when they first came out. It's a work horse. Still running today actually. This thing has gotta be around 9yrs old. Pulls some.good gunk and I wouldn't hesitate to replace it with the newer model once this quits running.

Here's my RO bh2000 in action. Dumped the cup 2 days ago and it's full. But I'm skimming wet.

Only thing i dont like about the aquamax is the intake is so deep. Most proteins rise in the water column so skimming from the surface is best.
