Hi,

Can you tell what these are?
The round ball is a brine shrimp egg so these things are super tiny and all over the glass.

I used this tank for fresh water fairy shrimp before.
I am pretty sure I soaked tank in bleach water before. Not sure where they came from.

I did put bunch of tisbe pods in this tank that I grew. They don’t look like tisbe though, they have pointy tail.

Maybe someone here knows. I guess I will find out in few weeks when they get larger???

Can fresh water protozoa thrive in salt water?

Only recent addition is live cheato algae from ebay seller, they said their cheato is clean. Visually looked clean, lol.

I did re-use the sand from opae shrimp 1/2G tank. It never had these critters. I can’t send video but some of them moving are like inch worms,
flat worms, not all.

Just caribesea frag rock(not live) and a tiny tail spot blenny.

My guess is you have a copepod bloom going on. If I'm not mistaken, protozoa are generally too small to see with the naked eye?
Maybe someone else can confirm this

They look like amphipods or copepods...neither of which are bad....both are quite the food source for some genus of wrasse as well as dragonets/scooter blennies.

Protozoa are microscopic- so you definitely aren’t seeing those unaided

these are most likely copepods.

Probably hitchhiked in the chaeto. If it had copepod eggs attached, they too are microscopic, so it would have looked ‘clean’ visually
