Bought a Leptoseris along with some other corals (Cyphastrea and Favia). Did a 7 min dip with CoralRX with tank water. I've never had a problem with CoralRX and have generally found it to be a very mild dip compared to something like Bayer. Cyphastrea and Favia were totally fine and opened right up, but the Lepto turned 80% white, it looks like the soft tissue receded. It's slowly coming back over the last 5ish hours and I think it will recover but it gave me quite a scare.

Just a heads up that they seem to be more delicate than other SPS.

This is it now, actually a lot better than it was.

Thanks for the heads up. Anyone else had a similar experience?

Yep. I dipped my Jason Fox Jack O Lantern and it did not look happy as it lost most of its color. I was so mad I thought I killed it. It did make a full recovery and is doing great now. I think the dip just irritated it but man I was worried.

I thought i killed all my jack o lantern and burning banana stylo frags when i dipped them in coral rx, it took weeks to months and they made a recovery but the large mother piece died back to almost nothing! I’ve also found fragfarmer red setosa montipora will die with a coral rx dip as well

Yeah mine also made a full recovery within a week, so maybe I overreacted, but I won't be dipping future leptos regardless.

I just dipped a lepto for like 5 mins and a lot of it turned white :( I really hope I didn’t kill it. Feel a little better after reading this thread though but only a little lol

I always thought bayer was the gentlest dip? Never had issues dipping leptos in coral rx, iodine, or coral revive, including ones from jason fox, weird

I had always heard that Bayer was one of the easier dips on corals also.

I dip everything (now at least) in Bayer and I've never had an issue from dipping any coral in it.

I am about to get a jack o lantern and some other encrusting coral! I always use coral rx because I thought it was much gentler then something like bayer which is labeled an insecticide!

So which is more gentle?
