I have a Clown Tang that pretty much chased my newly added Atlantic Blue Tang in a very territorial manner. Not a deathmatch but pretty much a chase to show the Atlantic it was NOT welcomed anywhere in the tank.
This went on for 4, 5 days.
During maintenance I noticed my SG had climbed to 1.026~1.027
I had read a long time ago that fish get more and more agitated the higher the SG.
I slowly dropped my SG to 1.023 over 24hrs.
Today with all lights on... the Clown and Atlantic are now swimming around each other with no aggression whatsoever.
Not sure if lower SG slows down the metabolism/attitude of fish but I saw an immediate change in the Clown Tang's aggression.
PSA noted.....
