PSK-1000 : Is the ceramic shaft removable?

I always said there are no stupid questions, so here I go...

I have a PSK-1000 with the stock star shaped needle wheel impeller and ceramic shaft. On my PSK-2500 the ceramic shaft was removable from the impeller. It looks like on the PSK-1000 the shaft is permanent...

Can someone please confirm this please?

I don't want to break the shaft attempting to remove it if it isn't supposed to come out...

Has anyone taken this pump apart?

i put it all back together so I could get the skimmer up and running again, but if the shaft is meant to be removed I'll take it offline again and put in the spare pump to let it limp along until I can fix the pump.

Heck I can't even get the cover plate off.




I know, old dead thread. But after doing a google search on how to get the cover plate off I found this thread.

I finally got the impeller cover plate off, but the impeller and shaft are frozen. Will not budge. Have been soaking the pump in cleaning vinegar for a few hours.
I see where you can buy new impellers for them online so they must be removable.
How ever I saw a post by mojo on reef central back on 2011-2012 that he said that is wasn't removable.
I wonder if the early ones weren't meant to be replaced.
I do find it hard to believe.

I hope this does loosen up. I'd hate to have to replace the whole pump.
