Hey Reefer,

I thought to post a few pictures of my glowing Corals under my new light, I finally got a chance to play a bit !!!

These pictures are under an @ATI North America - ATI Powermodule Hybrid, with LED Clusters used only.
Still playing with the Colors and most Acros need to develop more fluorescence first before they can start glowing.........
I love the Giesemann Powerchrome T5, thx to @Diesel for the lessons on bulbs and his Bulb configuration is great.

Here a part of the tank picture with some more brightness under Royalblue with some white in.

Nice pics! What camera are you using? Filters, post editing? It's funny my phone seems to take better shots under the blues than my dslr, even after post.


*Side note, if you ever want to part with the mushroom colony in the first shot please let me know...I'd love to give it a new home ;p

I use the Canon 70D, with the EFS60 macro lens, in AV mode to correct the brightness when taken the pictures. This cam has excellent automatic white balancing for these type of pictures, so no issues with blue lights.
Some pictures I took a low density yellow filter to basically have the pictures appear as you see the fluorescence in real life, otherwise it's difficult to really capture the fluorescence!!!!

By the way the shrooms are normal orange Ricordea shrooms from Live aquaria years ago.
Those are like weed and like PO4 and Manganese .....hint hint!!!!!!

I don't have any software to fool around, as well these were fun pictures.
But was really happy with the results.

Does anyone else have some glowing corals to share?

Keep in mind, blue 450 nm and a yellow filter will make your Camera catching the effect of fluorescence!

Blue yes, filter no. Just iPhone with an app filter. I forget which one now. That was my tank I just took down & upgraded to larger, gonna miss it!
