Lol nope. Maybe it's an identity crisis? They were born zoo's but felt like they were mushrooms all along I'm guessing they are trying to get a different exposure to the light? Do you target feed them?
It's almost as if they are trying to invert themselves...hmmm water specs ok?
I have seen this with one of my colony's. I have an SPS dominate tank, dose mag, have VERY stable tank params. The only thing that changed when they started doing this is flow. I replaced my gyre with a jeabo WP-25 twin wave maker setup. In doing so, I changed the flow pattern/strength. The area the zoas are in drastically increased in flow. That's about the same time they inverted.
Interesting! I had about 4 good size colonies that did this in a week... It took almost a month to go back to normal... Some of them melted. I assume they do that when they are stressed with something. Could be flow or some change in parameters...
We have some Magician palys that were doing fine on my frag rack then moved them to the Rock and that's where they umbrellaed.. left them alone for a few months and nothing has changed all Params are great so we moved them to the sand about 2 weeks ago and now they are looking better not 100% yet! but if anyone has a fix im all ears lol
