Just feed my puffer and noticed his one eye is messed up. I don't know what happened he was fine yesterday and now today his one eye looks terrible. He is eating but I have no idea what this is. Any help please

He has popeye. Since it's just the one eye, it points to an injury that has gotten infected. You can feed him antibiotics since he's still eating. Kanaplex with Focus soaked into the food you feed him will help. It's best to put him in a QT and treat the water with the kanaplex- it's more efficient. 10 consecutive days of treatment.

+1 You can also use Epsom salt to help ease the swelling.

Thank you all so much. This is my first puffer I have a bit of saltwater experience but never had a puffer. Water parameters are all in normal for my fowlr tank so I knew it wasn't that. I will move him to my 20 gallon qt tank and start treating Monday when the kanaplex arrives from Amazon. Is there anything else I can do in the meantime till it arrives? Thanks again

Porcupine puffers have a lot of eye issues. They tend to cloud and get popeye very easily. It seems to be water quality related although copper also seems to cause these issues. Good luck I wish I had more for you.

What water quality issue causes this. I have checked for all the normal things ph, nitrate, ammonia, ect. Just wondering. Again thanks for the help

Water quality can play a role. Right now the eye is infected. Think about when you have a cut or injury. You keep the area clean and antibiotics on it right? So in this case you keep the water pristine and feed or dose a QT with antibiotics to heal it.
