Hi everyone. I went fishing today and saw this little guy in the shallows and just HAD to bring him home.

The difference between this little guy and the others is the jet black on his sides and the jet black bars across his back. The adults bars are actually medium brown and they lack the black along on the sides being white to off white. The juveniles have essentially the same colour pattern as the adults just being a bit more vibrant. The few guys I've spoken to about it (who have each been fishing the area for up to 20+ years) say they've never seen one like this before.
I'm wondering if it's a very rare fish that could have eluded hardcore fisherman for 20+ years despite the more common type nearly being a pest or if it's a colour variant of a regular puffer possibly making it even rarer. I'm hoping its a colour variant!
Just wanted to share it with everyone :)
