Puffer ich? Velvet? Overprotective mama?

I thought copper products were a no no on scaleless fish like puffers? I ask because our Porcupine Puffer who is now in QT has spots that suddenly appeared after he puffed up when he swam into the backside of the powerhead and puffed up last night. I checked the QT tank this morning and now it has a ton of white micro dot sized things crawling on the glass. I'm guessing ich as the Golden Damsel that was 5 weeks in on his QT process and has not had a single issue is now covered in white dots this morning :mad:

So this is a total guess, but I would imagine if the dots are on the glass then it wouldnt be ich right? (I am a total noob, but would suspect more like flukes.) My freshwater dip seems to have helped him greatly. Very well could have been ich in my case as I did see a spot on the rabbitfish and my cbb, but all have disappeared. I'm thinking stabilizing temp and feeding a bit more has helped their immune systems fight it off. My puffer never acted sick, nor was he scratching and he still ate like a pig. None of the others acted oddly at all either. But after a freshwater dip, it was quite easy to baster blast off any spots that were left. Thanks for your input guys! I can breathe again!

I'm sure with some activity to knock them loose, such as normal swimming or being in the powerhead, they would go away fairly quickly. Mine gets them on his belly when my water level gets too low, but when he swims up while feeding they all pop pretty fast

My puffer has micro bubbles all over his body for a while after he puffs. Do they go away after a while?

That's a good question if it's ich or flukes as they are on my glass. This is the first time in 30 years I've had a parasite/ disease so I can't answer that.

You wouldn't see ich it is microscopic. I've seen several flukes come off of fish during FW dips, but I have never seen one hanging out on the glass.
