So I rescued a spiny box puffer the other day, got another call about another two spiny box puffers that are also sick, which id like to say I’ve never even heard of these fish before last week but I have already found fellow aquarist to take them after I treat them up, so if they are all the same size and well fed with the same issue (ich) can I hypo all of them in a 55 gallon together? I’ve read this specific species isn’t aggressive towards its own kind and then also read that all puffers hate there own kind and are on sight, I added all three of them watched them for two hours and they basically just stared at each other then all went to there own corner of the tank. Just a month of hypo then they are split up is it something I should leave them in for the treatment or do they need to be split up because of risk to fighting.

It's really hard to do what you are doing and I wish you success. There's no way for us to know for sure if the treatment protocol you use is going to work, especially without knowing definitively the pathogen affecting the fishes.

Are you sure it's ich? Do you have pictures? What are the symptoms that they are sick?

Yes I wasn’t asking about the treatment, more so about the fact that I have identified what needs to be done and am wondering if they would basically kill each other if all together in one tank throughout the one month treatment as I’ve read for spiny box puffers specifically they will be aggressive to other fish but not there own kind and I’ve also read vice versa, was just wondering if anyone had ever heard of any real world experience with keeping multipul of them together
