For the past few days I've been putting up a mirror on the glass in my 23gal to entertain a Green Spotted Puffer. It's had different reactions but mainly likes to stare all day. Today I noticed it a couple times attempting "barrel rolls" and showing it's underside the the glass. While I mainly just find this behavior intriguing I want to rule out illness... What do you think?

I'm thinking either, it's sick, or it's "attempting to mate" with its reflection, or it's trying to look at it's belly resulting in a full roll. I think the mating behavior is most likely because it hasn't show any real indications of illness lately...

Not sure if I am missing something, but you might need to change the permissions on your youtube account as it comes up as disabled by owner when I attempt to watch it.

Hmm I have 2 GSPs (not sure what sexes they are though) and have never seen this behavior. They get along and usually sleep together in the same cave. They are very curious though so I’m guessing he/she is so intent on getting a good look that it’s causing the rolling. Sure looks fat & healthy

Wouldn’t be surprised as the GSPs are the smartest fish I’ve come across. They have very interesting, amusing behaviors
