Puffy frogspawn?

I’m coral sitting a couple of pieces for my buddy who sold his set up to downsize. One of the pieces is a frogspawn. In my tank it seems very puffy. He said in his tank it looked normal. Is the puffiness normal?

Maybe a little puffier than mine look. Might be adjusting to the light or might need a bit stronger light.

Ya, I might try lowering the light this week. I'm running a 6 bulb ATI with 2 reefbrites xho 11 inches from top of tank. Might lower it to 9 inches. I have read that's where a lot of ATI people have been putting them

Not an expert no where near lol just wondering if you happen to know what his salinity was verses yours? I am only thinking of this from my Science background not reef keeping lol. Take the human body for example if you are intaking too much salt you will retain water and have puffiness too. All biological cells that carry nuitrients work off of a sodium Potassium pump because Salt has an affinity for water and will naturally pull water in the direction of its Highest concentration grade. That being sad if he maintained a slightly higher salinity than you do the coral my just be dealing with the reprocussions of that move and will have to process the salts and water to reach an equilibrium or homeostatic state with its new environment.

I don't there's anything wrong with it, I've kept many types of euphyllia and they will do this from time to time, it may just like it better in your tank.

I don't know what his was at. Mine is at 1.026
But he is one of those guys who don't test... As much as I told him to go buy test kits he wouldn't.. Lol
