The last week or so my Duncan hasn’t been opening all the way and now the smaller heads on it have their tentacles puffed up like balloons. Everything else in the tank is doing great (zoas, blastos, acans, montipora, acro, torch)

Parameters:
Temp: 78
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 2-5ppm
Phos - .02-.03
Alk - 8.1 dkh
Cal - 450
Mag - 1380

There’s no pests, that I can see at least. And I have been looking very closely a lot this week. Any ideas? Ive tried moving it with no luck. It was doing great for a month or so before this started happening

This is normal activity. I would recommend feeding it if you can, if not feeding the tank in general so it can have more nutrients

I’ve been trying to feed it every feeding lately, but sometimes it closes up before feeding making it hard.

Is it normal for it to be like this for a week or more though?

Hmm where do you have it located? My experience with Duncans are best placed in the middle level of the tank

lower 3rd of the tank, close to the center. Mid flow. It was happy here for a month, just recently started having a problem

Hm I would give it a couple days because Duncan’s are hardy corals. If no change, I would recommend moving the coral down towards the sandbed with some low flow.
